- Kapitel 12 -

And these are the Kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote and possessed their land, on the other side Iorden toward the rising of the sunne, from the riuer Arnon, vnto mount Hermon, and all the plaine Eastward.

Sihon King of the Amorites, that dwelt in Heshbon, hauing dominion from Aroer, which is beside the riuer of Arnon, and from the middle of the riuer, and from halfe Gilead vnto the riuer Iabbok, in the border of the children of Ammon.

And from the plaine vnto the sea of Cinneroth Eastward, and vnto the Sea of the plaine, euen the salt sea Eastward, the way to Beth-ieshimoth, and from the South vnder the springs of Pisgah.

They conquered also the coast of Og King of Bashan of the remnant of the gyants, which dwelt at Ashtaroth, and at Edrei,

And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, vnto the border of the Geshurites, and the Maachathites, and halfe Gilead, euen the border of Sihon King of Heshbon.

Moses the seruant of the Lord, and the children of Israel smote them: Moses also the seruant of the Lord gaue their land for a possession vnto the Reubenites, and vnto the Gadites, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh.

The Kings Defeated West of the Jordan

These also are the Kings of the countrey, which Ioshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Iorden, Westward, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon, euen vnto the mount Halak that goeth vp to Seir, and Ioshua gaue it vnto the tribes of Israel for a possession, according to their portions:

In the mountaines, and in the valleys, and in the plaines, and in the hill sides, and in the wildernes, and in the South, where were the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites.

The King of Iericho was one: the King of Ai, which is beside Beth-el, one:

The King of Ierusalem, one: the King of Hebron, one:

The King of Iarmuth, one: the King of Lachish, one:
12
The King of Eglon, one: the King of Gezer, one:
13
The King of Debir, one: the King of Geder, one:
14
The King of Hormah, one: the King of Arad, one:
15
The King of Libnah, one: the King of Adullam, one:
16
The King of Makkedah, one: the King of Beth-el, one:
17
The King of Tappuah, one: the King of Hepher, one:
18
The King of Aphek, one: the King of Lasharon, one:
19
The King of Madon, one: the King of Hazor, one:
20
The king of Shimron-meron, one: the King of Achshaph, one:
21
The King of Taanach, one: the King of Megiddo, one:
22
The King of Kedesh, one: the King of Iokneam of Carmel, one:
23
The King of Dor, in the countrey of Dor, one: the King of the nations of Gilgal, one:
24
The King of Tirzah, one. all the Kings were thirtie and one.

Die von Mose besiegten Könige

Dies sind die Könige, welche die Söhne Israels schlugen, und deren Land sie jenseits des Jordans gegen Sonnenaufgang einnahmen, vom Bache Arnon an bis an den Berg Hermon, und die ganze östliche Gegend gegen die Wüste zu:

Sehon, der König der Amorrhiter, welcher in Hesebon wohnte, herrschte von Aroer an, welches am Ufer des Baches Arnon in der Mitte desselben im Tale liegt, und über halb Galaad, bis zum Bache Jabok, welcher die Grenze der Söhne Ammons ist;
3
und von der Wüste an bis an das Meer Keneroth gegen Osten, und bis an das Meer der Wüste, das ist das Salzmeer, an der Ostseite den Weg nach Bethsimoth hin, und an der Südseite, die von Asedoth abwärts liegt, Phasga.

Und das Gebiet Ogs, des Königs von Basan, der zu den Überresten der Raphaiter gehörte, und in Astaroth und Edrai wohnte, und über das Gebirge Hermon, Salecha und ganz Basan herrschte, bis zu den Grenzen
5
der Gessuriter und Machatiter, und halb Galaad, dem Gebiete des Königs von Hesebon.

Moses, der Diener des Herrn, und die Söhne Israels schlugen sie, und Moses gab ihr Land den Rubeniten, und den Gaditen, und dem halben Stamme Manasse zum Besitze.

Die von Josua besiegten Könige

Dies sind die Könige des Landes, welche Josue und die Söhne Israels jenseits des Jordans auf der Westseite schlugen, von Baalgad in der Ebene des Libanon an bis an das Gebirge, von dem ein Teil bis nach Seir hinaufreicht; und Josue gab das Land den Stämmen Israels zum Besitze, einem jeden seinen Anteil,

ebenso auf dem Gebirge wie in den Ebenen und in den Niederungen. In Asedoth und in der Wüste, und gegen Süden waren die Hethiter, Amorrhiter, Chananiter, Phereziter, Heviter und Jebusiter.

Der König von Jericho, einer: der König von Hai, das Bethel zur Seite liegt, einer;

der König von Jerusalem, einer: der König von Hebron, einer;
11
der König von Jerimoth, einer: der König von Lachis, einer;
12
der König von Eglon, einer: der König von Gazer, einer;
13
der König von Dabir, einer: der König von Gader, einer;
14
der König von Herma, einer: der König von Hered, einer;
15
der König von Lebna, einer: der König von Odullam, einer;
16
der König von Makeda, einer: der König von Bethel, einer;
17
der König von Taphua, einer: der König von Opher, einer;
18
der König von Aphek, einer: der König von Saron, einer;
19
der König von Madon, einer: der König von Asor, einer;
20
der König von Semeron, einer: der König von Achsaph, einer;
21
der König von Thenak, einer: der König von Mageddo, einer;
22
der König von Kades, einer: der König von Jachanan am Karmel, einer;
23
der König von Dor und der Landschaft Dor, einer: der König der Völker von Galgal einer;
24
der König von Thersa, einer; zusammen einunddreißig Könige.
