- Kapitel 35 -

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

“Son of man, set your face against mount Seir, and you shall prophesy about it, and you shall say to it:

Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, mount Seir, and I will extend my hand over you, and I will make you desolate and deserted.

I will tear down your cities, and you will be deserted. And you shall know that I am the Lord.

For you have been a continual adversary, and you have enclosed the sons of Israel, by the hands of the sword, in the time of their affliction, in the time of extreme iniquity.

Because of this, as I live, says the Lord God, I will hand you over to blood, and blood will pursue you. Even though you have hated blood, blood will pursue you.

And I will make mount Seir desolate and deserted. And I will take away from it the one who departs and the one who returns.

And I will fill up its mountains with its slain. In your hills, and in your valleys, as well as in your torrents, the slain will fall by the sword.

I will hand you over to everlasting desolations, and your cities will not be inhabited. And you shall know that I am the Lord God.

For you have said, ‘Two nations and two lands will be mine, and I will possess them as an inheritance,’ though the Lord was in that place.(a)

Because of this, as I live, says the Lord God, I will act in accord with your own wrath, and in accord with your own zeal, by which you have acted with hatred toward them. And I will be made known by them, when I will have judged you.

And you shall know that I, the Lord, have heard all your disgraces, which you have spoken about the mountains of Israel, saying: ‘They are deserted. They have been given to us to devour.’

And you rose up against me with your mouth, and you disparaged against me with your words. I have heard.

Thus says the Lord God: When the whole earth will rejoice, I will reduce you to solitude.

Just as you have rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, when it was laid waste, so will I act toward you. You will be laid waste, O mount Seir, with all of Idumea. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”

Gericht auf dem Berg Seir

Und es erging das Wort des Herrn an mich also:

Menschensohn! richte dein Angesicht gegen das Gebirge Seir und weissage über dasselbe und sprich zu ihm:

Also spricht der Herr, Gott! Siehe, ich will an dich, Gebirge Seir! Ich werde meine Hand wider dich ausstrecken und werde dich zur Wüstenei und Einöde machen.

Deine Städte werde ich zerstören und du sollst wüste werden und erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin.

Weil du beständig Feindschaft übtest und die Söhne Israels dem Arme des Schwertes überliefertest zur Zeit ihrer Bedrängnis, zur Zeit, da ihre Verschuldung aufs äußerste gestiegen war.

Darum will ich, so wahr ich lebe! spricht der Herr, Gott, dich dem Blutvergießen überliefern und Blut soll dich verfolgen; ja, da du das Blut gehasst, soll das Blut dich verfolgen.

Ich werde das Gebirge Seir zur Wüstenei machen und daraus hinwegschaffen den Hinkommenden und Wegziehenden.

Ich werde seine Berge mit seinen Erschlagenen bedecken und auf deinen Hügeln, in deinen Tälern und an den Bächen sollen durch das Schwert Erschlagene fallen.

Zu ewiger Einöde werde ich dich machen und deine Städte sollen nicht mehr bewohnt werden und ihr sollt erkennen, dass ich der Herr, Gott bin.

Dafür, dass du gesagt hast: Die beiden Völker und die beiden Länder sollen mein sein und ich will sie als Erbteil in Besitz nehmen, obwohl doch der Herr daselbst war,

darum, so wahr ich lebe! spricht der Herr, Gott, werde ich dir nach deinem Zorn und nach dem Maße deiner Eifersucht tun, die du ausübtest in deinem Grimme gegen sie, und ich werde mich durch sie kundgeben, wenn ich dich richte.

Und du sollst erkennen, dass ich, der Herr, alle deine Lästerungen gehört habe, die du wider die Berge Israels ausgesprochen, da du sagtest: Verwüstet sind sie und uns zum Verschlingen hingegeben!

Auch habt ihr euch wider mich mit euerm Mund aufgelehnt und habt verächtlich wider mich gesprochen, ich habe es vernommen.

So spricht der Herr, Gott: Zur Freude der ganzen Erde werde ich aus dir eine Wüste machen.

Wie du dich freutest über das Erbe des Hauses Israel, weil es verödet war, so werde auch ich dir tun; du wirst verödet werden, Gebirge Seir und du ganz Idumäa! Und sie sollen erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin.
